Pale Blue-eyed Grass
Sisyrinchium albidum

This iris relative is one of the dominant flowering plants of early spring in many of the glades and barrens of
Middle Tennessee.  The plants are rather stout for a blue-eyed grass and several flowers tend to open at one time
on each stem, giving this species a floriferous appearance.  The individual flowers are also larger than other
members of the genus and range in color from very pale blue to quite deep bluish-purple.
